I found out I was pregnant the day before my 21st birthday...

"I found out I was pregnant the day before my 21st birthday. Here is my list of why parenthood is not an option:
1. I'm 21 2. I'm a single mother of a 4 year old boy already 3. I live in section 8 housing 4. I work as a delivery driver for a pizza chain 5. I don't have a college degree 6. I don't know who the father is.
Here is my list of why adoption is not an option: 1. I'm testing to become a police officer and would be unable to attend the law enforcement academy for over a year 2. I would have to re-lose all of the weight and re-gain all of the muscle I've just achieved for the academy.
As selfish as the last three are, they are the biggest reasons why I have chosen to abort. I detached myself from the pregnancy as soon as I found out and believe I will be okay. It would cost about the same to get the aspiration method (which I've heard is safer and more accurate) as the Planned Parenthood pill method. Since my state doesn't allow the aspiration abortion by law, I've set up an appointment and will have to travel across the state border about 1.5 hours away. I'm confident in my choice and have supportive friends and family who are helping me through this decision." —Katherine
