Growing up the one thing that I remember most...

November 1, 2013

"Growing up the one thing that I remember most was my mother telling me "Don't get pregnant, don't get pregnant", and I took that to heart. I used the pill religiously. I knew deep down that I wasn't cut out to be a parent, and I was just too selfish to want to be tied down. As it turned out my luck ran out and I wound up pregnant. I never thought twice about having an abortion, because I WAS NOT bringing another person into this world, for so many reasons, the foremost being I'd make a lousy parent. I gratefully had the abortion, and followed that up with a tubal ligation. In 33 years I've never once harbored regret for that decision, and never will, for me, it was the smartest thing I'd ever done."  —Kapi Neely
