"I found out I was pregnant my freshmen year of college, I was 18 years old and scared out of my mind. Honestly I knew that abortion was the best option for me right away. Me and my boyfriend were constantly at odds and I knew that I could not afford a baby making minimum wage, slaving at a sandwich shop. I knew that wasn't the life I wanted for me or my child. I didn't even entertain the idea of having the baby. I immediately made my first appointment at Preterm and proceeded to go on with the process.

The procedure went really smooth and painless, I woke up from the procedure, sat in recovery until my mom picked me up. After the procedure I did suffer from emotional trauma and had to go through a little counseling, but all in all I don't regret my decision even to this day. The women at Preterm took such good care of me it made my decision a easier thing to accept in my life. Two years later I'm a new mom to a beautiful baby girl who is my world. I'm more established today and I am more capable of taking care of a baby. This experience definitely helped me put my life into perspective in realizing what I really want." —Amber Ashford
