My Abortion, My Life features ongoing events and activities to promote an open dialogue about abortion in our community and hear women’s stories in their own words and voices.

Back of bus ads ran on 10 buses throughout greater Cleveland. Thanks to all our supporters who donated money to put our message on the street.
The executive director of Faith Aloud, a compelling religious voice for reproductive justice, Rev. Turner spoke about abortion as a moral decision, how pro-choice people can address religious and spiritual issues in abortion conversations, and how we can create safe spaces for these conversations. Rev. Turner’s audience included faith leaders, members of faith communities, and reproductive justice advocates interested in the spiritual dimensions of their work, as well as those who have stepped back from religion because of the negative messages about abortion.

Street Kiosks: We put up 14 large posters on street kiosks throughout Cleveland, taking the My Abortion, My Life campaign out to the public. We hope they've gotten people talking about abortion all over town.

House Parties: These informal gatherings include a film screening of The Abortion Diaries or Silent Choices (follow links for descriptions of films) to help start a conversation. You can join a scheduled house party or we can give you a house party kit that includes a DVD and discussion guide, resources and handouts, and helpful hints for hosting your own house party.
Forums: Join us for one of our focused group discussions with guest speakers from our community and beyond. The first of these forums was held in June 2010 and featured Abortion Care Network President, Charlotte Taft, who addressed “What does it take to silence 50 million women?”
Open Houses: Visit Preterm and see the inner workings of an abortion clinic. You’ll talk to Preterm staff who hear women’s stories every day. They’ll address some of the myths about abortion and give you accurate information to help you in your own abortion conversations.
